About D-Point51
Starting in late 2025, I'll be releasing a small selection of our songs, music videos, and some of my instrumental music under the pseudonym D-Point51.
I produced much of the instrumental music using my Roland G-1000 ARRANGER WORKSTATION. The instrumental music is well-suited for relaxation and, for example, for relaxing while
working in the office (at least according to users). Of course, it's all a matter of personal taste.
You can find some demos of our songs on the website: https://my-yes.de/4%20songs.htm
About me
I / D-Point51 am a guy who doesn't care about fame. It's enough for me if I've had fun writing lyrics and producing music (alongside my actual job), and maybe now people find our music
quite good or even enjoy it.
Well, of course, there's no accounting for taste in music. So, not everything my friends and I liked during production will appeal to everyone. That's clear.
But no problem. At least we had fun doing it (smile).
I wouldn't call myself an artist either. Writing lyrics and producing music has simply been a hobby for many years. Purely for fun with like-minded people and friends.
With some hobby musicians, who have also become good friends over time, I've produced songs from some of my lyrics since 2016, a few of which are scheduled for release on streaming
services starting in late 2025. So, just for fun, I'm also releasing one from the "folk" genre, which I recorded and mixed back then using rather "Stone Age" equipment (a 4-track Roland SP-
808 hard disk recorder). Pretty complicated tinkering. Oh well... That was way before 2016 and not really my taste. But my grandma wanted it, so what does a dear grandson do...
(chuckle).
Releasing music via streaming services certainly isn't a viable way for people like me to make money, I think, with the very meager 0.00 to 1 cent per stream that song owners are
supposed to receive from the streaming service according to their contracts. So we're not expecting any financial gain from it. Only the artists promoted by record labels sometimes achieve
any financial success.
Furthermore (as one "hears"), according to some artists who had expected more from major streaming services, things are (to put it mildly) very "strange," not to say fraudulent, at some
streaming providers (as of December 2025). Apparently, streams of a significant number are not being credited to the respective song, but rather to superstars, thus giving the
artists/owners of the song and the users false streaming numbers (fraudulent?). Naturally, payment is then not made to the artist/owner. I am also referring here to a TV program in which
this was reported by well-known artists in early March 2026.
I would find it very unfortunate if this were actually true.
Ultimately, however, any user who streams a song from us, for example, can check this for themselves. Their stream should then immediately increase the streaming numbers for that
song. Or what?…
Our first album, “Happy Birthday,” featuring songs (including some for dancing) and the title track for “birthday kids,” is scheduled for release on March 14, 2026, on select streaming
services.
Just a quick note for younger people to better understand the process of releasing music…
Before music streaming existed, artists had to sign contracts with record labels to release their music. These labels, of course, wanted and still want to make a lot of money from the artists.
However, this certainly caused, and still causes, considerable pressure for many artists. Furthermore, the risk of failure, which could quickly lead to financial ruin, is significant, at least
financially, if you put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to income. There are countless talented people in this field, so you have potential competitors. That's also why we've
refrained from signing with a record label or going on concert tours. We all have very comfortable jobs and don't need that risk to earn our living and enjoy making music.
Being recognized and watched on the street is certainly a matter of personal taste. It's not my taste, at least. Because I love and enjoy my freedom as a completely ordinary guy who isn't in
the public eye.
Professionally… I used to sail with an A6 license, which meant I had a lot of accumulated vacation days after each voyage. This gave me full days to produce music with friends, or to go
skydiving and practice military martial arts (as a former paratrooper). Now, after completing further studies, I'm doing something completely different professionally. For me, family comes
first. Being a sailor and having a family is unfortunately very difficult.
Our Songs
In my song lyrics, I occasionally tell a story from the lives of some people I know.
Some of these songs, which you can find here on the website as demos and full versions, contain socially critical themes (such as in the song "We Are Not Alone") from our album "Happy
Birthday," which (as mentioned) will be released on March 14, 2026.
Especially in the current global political situation, this song might offer hope for better times. It aims to strengthen the cohesion of citizens (male, female, etc.) to preserve and improve
democratic conditions.
You can also find two more songs in German and one in English, all in full versions, available for free download here on the website. These songs address the fundamental problems that
have been worsening in Germany for decades and are simply intended to encourage reflection.
For example, whether our form of democracy is truly the "final word" – as our politicians like to claim confidently, often driven by purely economic self-interest. Or whether further
development of our democracy hasn't been absolutely necessary for many years.
By the way: We've reworked some song lyrics with different music and different artists. It's a kind of competition between the performers. Because almost the same lyrics often come
across quite differently with different music.
Enjoy!
Yours, D-Point51
